Drainage and reclamation districts have the basic objective of managing the movement of surface water to facilitate beneficial uses of land within their district and preventing or minimizing erosion and flooding. This objective is achieved through the construction and/or maintenance of surface conveyance features such as ditches, laterals, natural stream courses, weirs and other infrastructure.
